A conversation at a country wake;

BROADSIDE: A CONVERSATION,, A conversation at a country wake; William and James, meeting. London: printed by A. Applegath ..... and sold by J. Davis; J. and C. Evans; and J. Nisbet. n.d. [ca. 1820 or earlier].

broadside (39 x 25 cms), printed in three columns with woodcut vignette at head. A very good large copy.

Rare as a broadside: no other copy located, although relatively common in various guises as a chapbook.

In chapbook form (variously dated between ca. 1800 and 1830) it often helpfully has the expanded title: A conversation between William and James, at a country wake: very proper to be read by all persons who go to fairs, wakes, and races; because it will shew them how to keep themselves from being misled and hurt by these diversions>.
